About Michael Aron

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz and a Master’s degree in Organizational Industrial Psychology from the University of New Haven (the “Other” UNH). He retired from the insurance industry as an Information Technology (IT) Manager in 2022.

Michael believes that community service is extremely important. He has been a member of the Acworth Planning Board since 2014 and has served as the chair since 2023. In 2022, he was appointed and subsequently elected as a member of the Fall Mountain Regional School District Budget Committee. Since 2014, he has also been a member of the Acworth Community Project, the NH non-profit that runs the South Acworth Village Store.

Michael has been involved in local politics for many years, always in the background. He has been the Chair of the Sullivan County Republican Committee since 2018, working to help elect local candidates. This year, Michael decided to run for state representative himself.

Michael has been a member of Toastmasters International for 23 years. He has earned two Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) awards, the highest honor a Toastmaster can receive, and is currently working on his third DTM. He has held numerous offices at the club and district levels and is currently the treasurer of the Keene Toastmasters Club. During his 23 years in Toastmasters, Michael has competed in 105 speech contests, winning first place 52% of the time.

Michael and his wife, Judy, have been married for 46 years. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. Michael and Judy live in Acworth with a dog, two cats, and a flock of chickens. As a hobby, Michael makes his own bow ties.
